Iams Food Review
Iams is one of the most popular pet food brands. Our Iams Food review will cover the Iams history, best products, recalls, and all other details.
What is Lams?
Lams was founded in 1946 by Paul Iams, a self-taught animal nutritionist from Ohio. Originally, Iams produced and sold high-protein and high-fat dog foods. Iams developed the first dry dog foods based on animal protein in 1950. Later, the company expanded into cat foods. Like many pet food companies, the Iams brand has been making high-quality products for both cats and dogs for years, providing delicious choices for pet owners.
They advertise their recipes as wheat-free (no cornflour or other), without chemical fillers or preservatives, and with nutritional prebiotics such as chicken by-product as a good source of vitamins and protein.
The recipe includes meat by-products and rice meals as the first two ingredients. A number of cereals follow these meat ingredients: corn kernels, corn gluten meal and ground sorghum are at the top of the ingredient list.
The food contains fish oil as a source of omega-3 fatty acids. The ingredient list also includes traces of potatoes, spinach and dried apple pomace.
Other ingredients such as beet pulp and other animal fats, chicken by-product meal and chicken fat are available.
